Visit the last home of the playwright Henrik Ibsen were he wrote his two last dramas, John Gabriel Borkman and When We Dead Awaken. His major works also include A dollshous, Peer Gynt, Hedda Gabler and Ghost. Many consider Ibsen the greatest playwright since Shakespeare. Henrik Ibsen’s apartment is now restored to its original splendor with authentic interior and Ibsen’s furniture. Join a guided tour and get to know the famous writers life and work even better. The museum’s visitor center features an exhibit on Ibsen’s life and writing. Several of his personal belongings are displayed and sheds light on Ibsen’s political views, the relevance to international issues, and the dynamic power of Ibsen’s dramas. You can also see the exhibit Masters-meet, how Henrik Ibsen and Edvard Munch inspired each other.
