About us

In the open air museum at Kongsgård visit almost 40 different houses. There are older wooden buildings saved from redevelopment and moved here from Kvadraturen in Kristiansand and two farmyards, one from Setesdal and one from Eiken Vest-Agder. In addition, the public can visit an old schoolhouse from the late 1800s and Tonstadbua with painted biblical motives and rose-painted vines inside. On Setesdal farmstead is the museum's oldest building, Nomeland loft, from 1585. "Mini City" shows blocks with Miniature from old Kristiansand. Current exhibitions are displayed in the main building.

Buy tickets in the museum shop, and see what we have to offer to potential gift items and souvenirs.

In our cafe in Mørch pavilion you can partly enjoy a freshly baked waffle with a cup of coffee or tea.

In summer there are various activities for children every day. Come see the farm animals; hens, horses, sheeps and rabbits. Stay tuned in the event calendar for events during the year.
