Spillum Dampsag & Høvleri is the Norways best preserved steam sawmill facility, and one of only fifteen technical industrial cultural heritage of national significance.
Spillum Dampsag & Høvleri, situated just south of Namos, is the country’s most preserved larger steam sawmill facility, and one of only fifteen technical industrial cultural heritage of national significance.
We have preserved the facility as a “time bubble” where we take our guests back to the 19th century – we even, from time to time, use the old sawmills for production, which gives the whole experience a more authentic vibe.
When visiting you can choose to wander around by yourself or book a guide that will take you through the production facilities – guides must be booked in advance.
Welcome to an exciting and educational museum.
