If you want to get away from the crowded streets of Oslo and experience the beautiful nature surrounding the city, a walk with Oslo Hiking is perfect for you. No hiking experience is needed. Just put on your walking shoes and join us.

All our hikes starts at Oslo Visitors Center in central Oslo and last for 3 hours.

Holmenkollen Walk

Pleasant walk to the famous Holmenkollen ski jump, the heart of Norwegian skiing.

The tour starts outside Oslo Visitor Centre at Jernbanetorget. You will meet the local guide, and together you will take the metro line Frognerseteren to Lillevann. This is a great train ride so don't forget to take pictures!

You will hike past idyllic Lillevann and then down to Frognerseteren restaurant. The trip follows part of the 50-kilometer trail, down a toboggan run from the first Luge World Championship in 1955, past Midtstubakken and further down to Holmenkollen Chapel. The highlight of this hiking tour is without doubt the majestic Holmenkollen ski jump, one of the most famous sport arenas in the world. You will then stroll down to the metro station and finish the trip at Jernbanetorget, where you started.

Geographic center of Oslo walk

Do you know that geographical center of Oslo lies in the middle of the forest? Enjoy this hiking tour among Norwegian lakes and green forests and find the center of Oslo with a local guide.

The tour starts near the Tiger statue at Jernbanetorget where you will meet your local guide.

First you will take a train to idyllic Sognsvann lake. From there you will hike into the real Norwegian forest, pass another beautiful lake - Svartkulp, and end up at Nedre Blanksjø. This lake lies in the middle of the forest, and that's there actual geographical center of Oslo is! Nedre Blanksjø is a beautiful small lake surrounded by peaceful green forest. From Nedre Blanksjø you will hike another trail back to Sognsvann lake, and then take public transportation back to Jernbanetorget.

This hiking tour will let you feel the power of untouched nature. No need to say that not all the local have been to the geographical center of Oslo.

Lysaker river walk

Enjoy a stroll along the Lysaker river in the green neighborhood of Oslo.

The trip starts outside Oslo Visitor Centre at Jernbanetorget in Oslo city centre. From there we will take the Røa Line to idyllic Røa.

We will slowly hike down towards the Lysaker river. There is a charming and accessible path along the riverbank. You will love it! Norway is a land of waterfalls and some of them (small but powerfull) are located right in Oslo.

We will cross bridges, enjoy waterfalls, frothing rapids, lush trees and the twitter of birds. The trip finishes at Jar station where we will hop on the metro and arrive back at Jernbanetorget, where we started.

It is a real Norwegian experience not far from the city center.

Bogstad Manor walk

Discover Bogstad Manor - a place with the history. Enjoy gorgeous landscapes and hike along the Norwegian lakes.

The trip starts outside Oslo Visitor Centre at Jernbanetorget in Oslo city centre. We will then take the metro line Frognerseteren to Lillevann. This is a great train ride, so be ready for the panoramic views!

The view from Lillevann across Lake Bogstad and Sørkedalen is magnificent. We will hike through an exciting and varied landscape down to Strømsdammen, Sørkedalen and the beautiful and majestic Bogstad Farm. Bogstad Manor is located in romantic Norwegian landscape. Our guide will share the history of this place.

After that we will hike past Lake Bogstad and return via public transport to Jernbanetorget, where we started. This is an easy trip. However, previous experience of walking in forests is an advantage.

Barbecue in the Norwegian forest

Join us for a forest hike to the heart of Oslo. Enjoy a Norwegian barbecue on one of Oslo´s most beautiful lakes. Available on March 15th.

The tour starts near the Tiger statue outside Oslo central station - Jernbanetorget - where you will meet your local guide.

We will take a 30 min tram to the popular Sognsvann lake. From here we will start to hike through the green forest, breathing the clean fresh air.

We will soon reach another beautiful small lake called Nedre Blanksjø. This lake lies in the middle of the forest, and where the actual geographical center of Oslo is located! It is a real wonder how close the Norwegian capital is to the wilderness and forest. Here, surrounded by nature, we will have a campfire and enjoy a Norwegian barbecue. That means we will sit around the fire on the shore of the lake and enjoy our barbecue (we can provide snacks, hot coffee, soft drinks, fruits and maybe grilled sausages, you can choose it as an additional option). There is nothing better than eating outside after a good hike in the woods, a simple meal and good friends!

From Nedre Blanksjø we will hike a different trail back to Sognsvann lake, and then we take public transport back to Jernbanetorget.

View of the Oslofjord walk

You will see the best views of the Oslo fjord from Frognerseteren and from the top of Vettakollen mountain. Unforgettable memories guaranteed!

Our trip starts outside Oslo Visitor Centre at Jernbanetorget. We will take the metro line Frognerseteren to Frognerseteren station. This is a great train ride, so enjoy the views!

The panoramic view from Frognerseteren is magnificent. We will slowly hike down towards King Olav’s trail and over the picturesque Fuglemyrene before reaching the top of Vettakollen mountain. On this tour you will find not only panoramic views, but also will explore the Norwegian forest: listen to birds singing and breath the scent of pines.

Vettakollen peak provides the best view to the city. The view from here is absolutely unbelievable! The summit offers a panorama of large parts of Oslo, the Oslo fjord, its coastline and many small islands. After enjoying this breathtaking Vettakollen view, we will stroll down to the metro station and finish our trip at Jernbanetorget, where we started.

Great lake tour

Best views of Norwegian nature: panoramic view of lakes and forests.

In this trip you will see the clean Norwegian lakes and nature in all its beauty.

The trip starts outside Oslo Visitor Centre at Jernbanetorget in Oslo city centre. We will then take the Vy train to Snippen station.

This is a great train ride so don't forget to take pictures!  We will hike up to the tall hill where some simple climbing is required. The view from this hill is breathtaking! You will see the most of Oslo, the Oslo fjord and a large part of Oslo's surroundings. We will then stroll down to the great lake Maridalsvannet and finish our trip where we started at Jernbanetorget.

Walk to the Rose Castle

This tour combines a visit to Rose Castle with walk in the lush forest and stunning views of Oslo fjord.

The tour starts from the Jernbanetorget, train station in the city center. Our guide will be waiting for you near the Tiger statue. Together we will take a train to Lillevann, and here our adventure begins! This train ride provides the best panoramic views of the Oslo fjord.

From Lillevann, we will wander through the lush forest, enjoying the smell of pine trees and fresh air. In the summer, the forest is all green and wild, with ferns and blueberry bushes.

Next stop of our tour is Voksenkollen. The hiking trail will lead us to the small, but picturesque lake called Øvresetertjern. Here, on the lake shore, we will take a rest and have a hearty break, enjoying snacks and drinks.

After the break, we will hike to the Rose Castle, an art installation and an educational project, which aims to tell the story of the occupation of Norway and of the principles of humanism. The tickets are included in price and we will spend about 30 minutes in the Rose Castle learning about the history.

Situated north to the city, this area is located 400 m above the sea level, so we will have some spectacular views of the Oslo fjord. The train station Frognerseteren is located nearby. We will then take a train back to the Jernbanetorget, where we started our tour earlier.

Maridalen tour

Enjoy the idyllic Maridalen valley and hike along lake Maridalsvannet. Feel the nature.

The tour starts outside Oslo Visitor Centre at Jernbanetorget. We will then take public transportation to our starting point in Hammern. This is a great bus ride through the idyllic valley Maridalen and along lake Maridalsvannet.

We will then hike deep into the forest and up to the viewpoint of Kamphaug. From there we will stroll down to one of the most beautiful Norwegian lakes in the forest of Nordmarka - Skjersjøen. We will find a place to sit next to the water and enjoy a break and the view and the silence. Take your time and feel close to the nature.

After that we will hike along the wild river of Skjersjøen. There is a charming and accessible path along the riverbank, along which we will cross bridges, enjoy waterfalls, frothing rapids, lush trees and the twitter of birds. The trip finishes at Hammern and we will take public transportation back to Jernbanetorget. You need to bring food and water with you on this tour.

Nordmarka forest tour

Let's hike in the Norwegian forest! You will be able to explore Nordmarka nature and maybe even meet some forest animals.

The trip starts outside Oslo Visitor Centre at Jernbanetorget in Oslo city centre.

We will then take the Frognerseteren line to Frognerseteren. Our group will hike along broad and small patches into the Northern forest in Oslo. In this part of the forest you can find fox, beaver, moose, deer, eagle, hare and many other animals! They are all harmless. But still it is a great opportunity to see a wild nordic nature. Our guide will bring binoculars so you could take a closer look at the Norwegian animals.

After a long break for lunch you will stroll down to Sørkedalen, and finish the trip at Jernbanetorget.

The Øyungen Adventure

If you have dreamed of staying one night outside in the great outdoors, then this is the perfect adventure for you. It’s an easy hike for everyone in the land of Norwegian sagas and trolls.

This adventure is a mini expedition to the gorgeous and mysterious Øyungen Lake. Close to the city, but on the edge of the great wilderness of Nordmarka. If you have dreamed of staying one night outside in the great outdoors, then this is the perfect adventure for you. It’s an easy hike for everyone, but it feels like another world. We leave the city behind and enter the Norwegian peace tranquility and uninhabited nature.

The Krokskogen Adventure

The Krokskogen adventure is the classic long trip through a wild and gorgeous part of Oslomarka. Here you will see a protected natural preserve with untouched nature, high peaks and mysterious lakes.

And not least, experience the good feeling of being under the stars at night, and feeling the very special atmosphere of the forest. The area is home to stories and legends and the sorceress Gygri (some people think she is still there, in the mountainside). Krokskogen is a part of the cultural heritage and is often mentioned in the Norwegian sagas.

The Canoe Adventure

Nordmarka is often mentioned as the best Oslo has to offer, but few experience the deep forests farther north. Here is a nature reserve with a primeval forest and nature that can best be described as wild.
