If you want to get away from the crowded streets of Oslo and experience the beautiful nature surrounding the city, a walk with Oslo Hiking is perfect for you. No hiking experience is needed. Just put on your walking shoes and join us.


All our hikes starts at Oslo Visitors Center in central Oslo and last for 3 hours.

Great Lake Tour

The trip starts outside Oslo Visitor Centre at Jernbanetorget in Oslo city centre. We will then take the Vy train (ticket included in price) to Snippen station.

This is a great train ride! We hike up to a tall hill where some simple climbing is required. The view from this hill is out of this world! You will see most of Oslo, the Oslofjord and a large part of Oslo´s surroundings. We will then stroll down to the great lake Maridalsvannet and by tram (!) end our trip where we started at Jernbanetorget.

Greater View Tour

The trip starts outside Oslo Visitor Centre at Jernbanetorget. We will then take public transportation to our starting point Lofthus.

We will slowly hike up up up towards Grefsenkollen. The trail has really steep raise. At the top of Grefsenkollen we can buy a glas of refreshment, while enjoying the magnificent view. We then stroll down to the best viewpoint of Oslo. The view from here is out of this world. The summit offers a panorama of large parts of Oslo, the Oslo fjord and the districts surrounding Oslo. We will then end our trip at Jernbanetorget where we started.

North Forest Tour

You have to be an experienced hiker to participate at this tour. The trip starts outside Oslo Visitor Centre at Jernbanetorget in Oslo city centre.

We will then take the Holmenkollen line to Frognerseteren. We will hike along broad and small patches in to the North forest of Oslo.

In this part of the forrest there is fox, beaver, moose, venison, eagle, hare and many other animals! We will hike to Kobberhaughytta, have a long break and then stroll down to Sørkedalen before we end our trip at Jernbanetorget where we started.

South River Tour

The trip starts outside Oslo Visitor Centre at Jernbanetorget in Oslo city centre. We will then take the metro to our starting point (ticket included in price).

We will slowly hike down towards the Ljan river. There is a combination of path, sand road and asphalt road along the riverbank. Part of the tour is in wild wild forest with only a small and exciting path! We will cross bridges, enjoy waterfalls, frothing rapids, lush trees and the twitter of birds.

We end up at the border of Oslo and will take public transportation back to Jernbanetorget, where we started.

River Roar Tour

The trip starts outside Oslo Visitor Centre at Jernbanetorget in Oslo city centre. We will then take the Røa Line (ticket included in price) to idyllic Røa.

We will slowly hike down towards the Lysaker river. There is a charming and accessible path along the riverbank, along which we will cross bridges, enjoy waterfalls, frothing rapids, lush trees and the twitter of birds. The trip finishes at Jar station where we will hop on the metro and arrive back at Jernbanetorget, where we started.

Majestic Tour

The trip starts outside Oslo Visitor Centre at Jernbanetorget. We will then take the Holmenkollen Line (ticket included in price) to Lillevann. This is a great train ride!

We hike past idyllic Lillevann and down to Frognerseteren restaurant, which is virtually an institution.  The trip follows part of a 50-kilometre trail, down a toboggan run from the first Luge World Championship in 1955, past Midtstubakken and further down to Holmenkollen Chapel.

The highlight of the trip is without doubt the majestic Holmenkollen ski jump. We will then stroll down to the metro station and conclude our trip at Jernbanetorget, where we started.

View Tour

The trip starts outside Oslo Visitor Centre at Jernbanetorget. We will then take the Holmenkollen Line (ticket included in price) to Frognerseteren. This is a great train ride!

The view from Frognerseteren is magnificent. We will slowly hike down towards King Olav’s trail and over the picturesque Fuglemyrene before reaching Vettakollen.

The view from here is out of this world. The summit offers a panorama of large parts of Oslo, the Oslo fjord and the districts surrounding Oslo. We will then stroll down to the metro station and conclude our trip at Jernbanetorget, where we started.

Luxurious Tour

The trip starts outside Oslo Visitor Centre at Jernbanetorget in Oslo city centre. We will then take the Holmenkollen Line (ticket included in price) to Lillevann. This is a great train ride!

The view from Lillevann across Lake Bogstad and Sørkedalen is magnificent. We hike through an exciting and varied landscape down to Strømsdammen, Sørkedalen and the beautiful and majestic Bogstad Farm.

We then hike past Lake Bogstad and return via public transport to Jernbanetorget, where we started.
