About us

Rekdal Wheelchair Fishingcentre

Welcome to Rekdal
We are delighted to welcome you to the Rekdal Wheelchair Fishingcentre in Norway.

Over the past few years, what used to be an old hay barn on the fjord has been transformed into a fishing holiday centre for everyone, able-bodied and disabled, who loves fishing. Wheelchair users, and their carers and able-bodied fishing friends, are very welcome here for the fishing holiday of their lives.

The fishing holiday centre has six bedrooms, each of which has a bunk bed and and an electrically adjustable hospital bed, a wardrobe and a washbasin. The shared facilities include a roomy toilet and shower cubicle with a mobile shower chair, a toilet with support bars and a washbasin. There is also a second smaller shower cubicle with a shower chair and grab bars and a toilet with support bar and grab bar, as well as another toilet and a urinal.

After a day’s fishing, there is time to relax in the large, adapted shared sitting room annex kitchen, which has all the necessary equipment, pots, pans and crockery. The fishing holiday centre has several boats, one of which is adapted for wheelchair users, enabling them to go out onto the fjord without any problems. This adapted boat can only be hired with a skipper from the fishing holiday centre. We will take you in an electric buggy to our own harbour where the fishing boat is moored. The boat can take up to four wheelchairs and three carers, so a maximum of eight people including the skipper . Anyone who does not want to go fishing can relax and enjoy the view from the pier or from the centre’s terrace.
