Storli Gard is a 400-year-old mountain farm located at the innermost end of Storlidalen in Oppdal in the midst of Norway. With its 61,000 acres outlying fields, the farm is one of Norway’s largest privately-owned mountain properties. Sheep farming is the main trade, but Storli Gard has also for a long time been a venerable guest farm – receiving visitors
for day visits and for longer stays.
The farm is surrounded by beautiful Trollheimen - a stunning scenery of majestic mountains and glittering streams and lakes where the trout bites willingly, with a variety of exceptional plants and a rich wildlife. Part of the Trollheimen Landscape Protection Area is within the boundaries of the property. This is truly an exceptional environment for recreation and enjoyment with family, friends or colleagues.
Thus, Storli Gard is a unique starting point for hiking and recreation. In these surroundings you may seek silence and enjoy trips far into the mountains. We organize tours both on foot and by bike along marked paths or along the tourist association’s trail network. The two-wheeler trip winds along the 13 km private road inwards to Tovatna and is well worth the effort. There are also a number of smaller cultural sights to visit in the area - power stations, cotter’s farms, potholes, old mountain huts, to mention a few. In the winter there are ski tracks beginning just outside our doorstep. Magnificent and beautiful outside, intimate and cozy inside. This is how we hope you will experience Storli Gard.
Production of farm food has been an important part of the work at the farm. Premium lamb meat from our own animals forms the basis for our products. If you are visiting, we offer an exciting menu of lamb products, a variety of game meat and mountain trout in the season. Storli Gard also serve beer from its own microbrewery. We can cater for a company from 8 up to 50 guests.
In the midst of this paradise,
we welcome you as our guest!
