The Norwegian Maritime Museum

This museum covers Norwegian seafaring and maritime life, from the country’s oldest vessel (2200 years old) to interactive experiences with modern simulators and digital games. Our panoramic 18-minute film is a good introduction to the museum and its topics, as it is a birds-eye view journey along the country’s astonishing coastline. The museum offers guided tours and maritime experiences for groups and individuals. Please contact us for more information and advance booking.

The museum has a unique location on the Bygdøy peninsula, close other attractions as well as to the city center of Oslo. The museum is a nice summer experience, with a splendid park area with outdoor attractions, sculptures and a marina for traditional Norwegian wooden boats. There is a shop for souvenirs and maritime artifacts, as well as indoor and outdoor cafes.
