Tingvatn was an ancient thingstead which covered the inland communities of Vest-Agder. The Iron Age, and the migration period in particular, has left its mark on the area. The meeting place, with its burial mounds and stone circles, can still be seen today. Presentations for schools, associations and other visitors, working with historic crafts using textiles and other materials, displays and the annual Vikingthing are just a few examples of what we offer during the year. Tingvatn Fornminnepark is an open meeting place – a place which tells the cultural history of Hægebostad, inland Agder and Tingvatn in particular.
